finally got my list of all wedding helpers, sisters and brothers...

actually kinda of sad & disappointed as of them cant make it, anyway as long as he/she happy can le... i cant pls everyone...so not everyone "must" pls me...

btw got some of the stuff done up...likes the wrists corsages for all my sisters, the day & nite one...like it alot.. hope they like it also...finish up doing the angbao boxes... and also the wedding favors 340 pcs w/ some help for my parent, my dear sis and specially dear LT who finally can help me design the favor card(i know u are bz w/ work but this is OUR WEDDING).

another "big" problem to solve... 过大礼stuffs..hiaz.. this time, my dear LT, pls help to solve wat i worry abt....

last sat, went for gown selection for the 1st time..
i went w/ Lt and my mum..

had chose my white gown, kua and nite gown already. i like the nite gown, the white one is wat i had chose from the magz but need to alter...

actually both Lt and i were quite surprised, for my fat and short size, i can fit to quite a no. of selection...and look quite nice on me too ....lol...

next coming week going for next selection of gown for the photo shoot. Lt need to chose his suits too this time.

recently mum had bought a nice beautiful diamond necklace for me, i love it.

my MIL had bought a diamond bangle for me too... at 1st thought of buying gold one cos of tradition but cant find wat i like, so she ask me to the diamond white gold one since i like it...

both mums will pass to me on the AD.. think willnt be wearing those fake jewellery from the bridal shop ba..lol..

for the wedding is 10 may 09 but i feel like delay it cos serene, my onli sister is having her exams next day, scare her cant cope w/ it, and also one of my close frd's baby is due on early may, very happy for her but sad tat she cant share this day w/ me... still wonder to delay anot... hiaz ....

In an interview with Simply Her, acclaimed etiquette author Peter Post and great grand-son of American etiquette consultant, Emily Post, said that couple etiquette is "about enhancing your relationship by ensuring you always treat each other with consideration, respect and honesty."

So, thinking before you act, improving communication, consistently choosing that thoughtful word or action to resolve a situation will help to build up a relationship, not tear it down.

The author shares these relationship-building tips with couples:

1) Say "I love you"
The phrase was key to preserving a loving relationship, according to regular Emily Post Institute surveys.

Here's how you can use it:

Before leaving for work

In a quick call to your spouse at work

Before ending a call

When your spouse does something thoughtful for you

Mouthing it to him/her across a crowded room at a social event

On a note

Squeezing his hand briefly while he's driving

Reaching out to hold her hand

2) Kissing
Do it daily as a sign of affection and affirmation. There are different types to convey different messages.

Good morning/night kiss to greet each other before you begin the day and after the day is done.

Surreptitious kiss: Blow a kiss at your spouse in public

Forehead kiss: When you say goodbye

Quick kiss: A peck to say "I'm happy with you"

Big, loud kiss: To show how much you adore him/her

After-glow kiss: In appreciation after a night of passion or romance

3) Bedroom woes
Your bedroom is you and your partner's sanctuary, and respecting each other's need for rest is important.
Here's how not to annoy each other.

Snoring: It's not because s/he wants to, so agree to tell/nudge him or her gently the next time it happens. But if the snoring gets too tough to bear, it's time to see a doctor.

Sharing bed covers: Just buy larger ones if your partner steals the comforter one time too many. Or, opt for individual blankets.

Watching telly or working on the laptop: Having the TV or reading light on can be disturbing for the partner who sleeps first. Compromise by moving the set out of the room, or use a booklight if reading is a must.

4) Disciplining the children
It is important that neither partner should override the other's authority.

Not in front of the kids: Back each other up. Never argue about discipline problems in front of the children, or they will learn to play one parent off the other.

Stick with the rules: When children know their boundaries and what types of behaviour are frowned on by the parents, they will not usually cross the line.

5) Dividing household chores
You may feel burdened by it, but don't let the bad feelings take over. Instead, work on a realistic solution.

Make a list: Write down the tasks your partner can help you with, so you can also appreciate his efforts.

6) Those annoying friends
In the event that you do not like each other's friends, compromise.

Mingle in large groups: A large group means you do not have to interact too much with the friends you don't like.

Make a quick exit: If you need to attend an event where those problematic friends will be present, agree on an excuse ahead of time and set up a secret signal, eg. a few winks, to tell your partner you want to leave.

7) Flirting
Flirting can mean different things to different people. It can be as harmless as a friendly raising of the eyebrow, or it can be as damaging as entering a conversation with a person with the intent of starting an intimate relationship.

Consider: If you are not sure what is accepted, ask yourself if your partner would be embarrassed if s/he hears about it, and you will need to explain your actions? If so, back off.

Know each other's limits: Get your partner to express what are his or her limits when it comes to flirting. If either of you get jealous easily, make it clear in the first place.

8) Conversational blunders
You may know your basic manners, but insensitive remarks abound too.
Here are some things that may annoy the other party.

Putdowns: When comments become hurtful, it's time to know when to stop. If you notice an extreme reaction to your remark, stop and say something nice.

Interruptions: It can be demeaning to constantly interrupt when the other is talking, especially if there is company.

Ignoring each other: When you're with friends, be sure to engage your spouse in the group conversation, so that he or she will not feel left out.

Failing to introduce your spouse: Of course this matters. You would want your partner to do the same for you, right?

finally settled the wedding dinner venue...

but as agreed by my MIL in the 1st place, there will only be 1 VIP table, both tofus will sit w/ both side parents. b4 suggesting this, both of us had discussed over it, as i dun like to sit separate w/ my side of parent as i feel like they really marry me off and been cut from of family tie...so before booking the AD we talked to my MIL, she agreed of it as we only small family, sit together will be better also..

but now...MY MIL want both tofus to sit w/ Mr tofu's family and MIL's brother's family. and maybe Mr tofu's granny(if she got come from Malaysia.

i really upset abt this.. of cos i mind when asked by Mr tofu...where got couple sit w/ MIL's side of family ones only FIL's only lo..why in the 1st place agreed then now changed her mind...

over this, both us had a arguement, cry, feel so helpless..

finally we decide to go watever MIL want for the AD since she is the one paying.. i just have to tell my mum abt this "bad news". feel that my parent are more understanding over this...

hiaz just want to get over this..i just want a MTM gown, have our photos shoot do watever we want for our wedding day only for the dinner part we just get over it..

i dun want to sour the relationship w/ MIL be cos of this also..hiaz....

Its confirmed @ Qianxi Bukit Batok Hilltop despite some trouble persuading my parents bout it. Surprised when they say the atmosphere is great and the food is nice (perhaps is the food tasting version 1.) Got discount from the manager, shiok.

Papa wanted the grand ballroom on top coz of the hotel style banquet ( nicer than shangri la they say). Will see how they come up with 100 more pple for the AD.

wedding dinner blues

wedding dinner...

since after our ROM, we have been on & off discuss on where to held the dinner..

at 1st, LT actually chose peony jade at clarke quay. i quite like the place also. from forum, good comment also... but for their change of menu price & no. of tables..we decide not to take PJ cos it more exp. compare to hotel.. then we decide to check out on furama riverfront hotel.. it just happen that we attended a wedding dinner of my cousin, the service are not bad, food ok. price quite ok la..

after checking out from website, we discussed abt it w/ my mum... she told us abt qianxi hilltop garden at bukit batok.. the price is good. place nice. food r good too.

but MR tofu say parking lots onli 180..stun.. dun understand why he worry abt parking lots..cos not all our friend or relatives drive..most impotent is dun drink & drive...after counting & estimate the no. of ppl drive is abt 30 only lor...so no worry la. BTW there alot of road block ard there i think....lol

so think our final choice shld be there.. but think will ask for some of the dishes to be change to suit our parent taste..lol...hope not too exp after change..cos of tight budget.. dun expect to earn from dinner, dun wish to lost too much also..think better to save abt 6 to 7k on it..

make it 7k for dinner, abt 10k for the wedding photo, our growns & suits, angbaos, suit for our dads, maybe our brothers...etc..if can we like to give some $$ for our helper on tat day for their clothes also..after all we need their helps on the day..

the date not decided yet cos we want 3 may 09, my parent ok w/ it.. Mr Tofu's mum say Chinese 8th or 9th month better that mean is Sept or Oct lo..hiaz..

NO. of tables shld be ard 30 to 32...
